6th March 2020 - Women of Westminster / Inspirational Portsmouth Women
FiLiA attended an event hosted by Portsmouth University Women and Gender Studies department. MP Rachel Reeves talked about her book ‘Women of Westminster’. We bumped into the indefatigable Solent WASPI Women. If you aren’t following their battle against state pension inequality - find out more on their website.
FiLiA then went on to the Inspirational Women of Portsmouth Awards and saw Carolyn Barber of the Mental Health Cooperative collect her award.
Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Crisis Counselling Service (PARCS) brought along their ‘Elephant in the Room’ (see photograph) which apparently goes everywhere with them! £1.50 of each ticket sale was donated to PARCS.
